Israel film "The Galilee Eskimos''

An old Kibbutz in the Hills of Galilee finds itself immersed in deep debt and is threatened by lawsuits from bankers to the point of bankruptcy. On the evening prior to the arrival of the bailiffs, men, women and children abandon their homes, taking with them all their possessions.

The sun rises over an abandoned kibbutz. Twelve senior citizens awake in the old-people’s home only to discover that they have been deserted and left to fend for themselves. The bank closes a deal with a contractor who arrives at the kibbutz and is surprised to discover the abandoned old-timers.

The Galilee Eskimos is a movie about the latent power revealed when senior citizens are abandoned and betrayed by society and relatives, leaving them alone to determine their own fate.
