Han Xin is the most well-known general, strategist, and military commander in Chinese history. With his military genius and a large heart that cares about the whole world, he not only assisted Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty to build the undertakings of Han that lasted more than 400 years, but also created many classical battles that had gone down in history in the late Qing Dynasty where rivaling warlords arose one after one and the world was left unrest. Therefore, he was regarded as "God of War" or "Manowar" by the posterity!
This play has a review of the historical figure Han Xin from the perspective of 5000 years of civilization of China. It takes the life experiences of Han Xin as the main theme, starting from his childhood in Huaiyin, then his joining the army with a sword, leaving Chu and joining Han, defeating other warlords, unifying the whole country and coming to an end with being killed in the Bell Room of Changle Palace. This play puts much emphasis on tortuous life experiences of this founding general of West Han, including his nobleness and righteousness, tremendous courage and wisdom, great success and tragedy as well as violent ups and downs. It sings high praises of his noble character and sterling integrity that Han Xin dedicated to world peace and people’s wellbeing, made painstaking efforts to unify the country, valued righteousness and belittling his life and went to his death unflinchingly. All these interpret the supreme realm and ultimate goal of war lies in the eternal truth that a war is stopped by war and expresses people’s strong wish for peace.
