FLIP Animation Festival 07 Update

This year the festival is bigger and better. Already confirmed for the programme are: a special screening of French Computer Animation curated and introduced by Jayne Pilling; a retrospective and talk from the award winning and ground breaking animator, Erica Russell; panels on Stop Motion and Animation for the You Tube Generation; a special focus on Sherbet Animation Studio and we’ve introduced a new element in the programme: Drawing the Digital, an academic symposium looking at the relationship between older animation forms and emerging ones. Keep an eye on the blog for updates and news. The full programme will be announced by 21 September.

What is Flip?

Flip is an eclectic mix of all things animation. Based in the heart of the Midlands the festival provides a wide range of experiences from educational workshops for young people to experimental animation for grown ups; from industry led panels to feature film screenings and from international showcases and retrospectives of short films to spotlights on animation companies.
