On one stormy night of the 55th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi (1711 A.D.), an imperial concubine of Yinzhen (Fourth Prince) gave birth to a baby girl difficultly. Meanwhile, a boy was born to a Chen Shi-huan’s (MING-QING: grand secretary of the Grand Secretariat) wife. In order to get the kingship, Yinzhen killed the imperial concubine cruelly, and court ladies and guardsmen in the know were also killed.

After that, Yinzhen changed his daughter with Chen Shi-huan’s son by force and lied to people that the baby was his own son. The baby boy of Chinese ancestry (Han people) became Emperor Qian Long (1644--1911) afterwards. And because of the secret, a great confrontation was raised between "kiang wu" (Chivalry and brave men from all corners of the country) and the court.

Yu Wan-ting, leader of Red Flower Society (An organization formed by people were against the Qing Dynasty) broke into the Forbidden Palace at night and revealed the fact that Qianlong was one of the Han people. However, he was killed for the unfavorable situation. Then Chen Jia-luo, the second son of Chen Shiguan, took over Red Flower Society. After read Yu Wan-ting’s tabulae, Jia-luo suddenly knew that Qianlong might be his elder brother.

He led all righteous men of Red Flower Society to contend with Qianlong in succession and tried to persuade Qianlong to make a plan of overthrowing Qing Dynasty and reinstating Ming Dynasty. But threatened by “Eight Testaments” and the plot of Heqin Prince and the empress dowager to seize power, Qianlong felt the importance of keeping the throne greatly. Clashes and contradictions finally caused the violent strike between the court and Red Flower Society…
