Marksman Hua Rong is conferred the general of Yingtian governmental troops for his outstanding contribution in suppressing Fangla rebels. He has killed Deng Yuanjue, the chief strategist of Fangla army with merely one arrow. The proud vice-general Lei Zhen is of course unwilling to submit to Hua Rong. He tries every means to embarrass Hua Rong, who however is always able to overcome difficulties with ease, and receives respect from people.
Hua Rong falls in love with a geisha Xiaoxiao, who is in fact the daughter of Deng Yuanjue. The purpose for her to get close to Hua Rong is to take a revenge. Pang Chunming has once been the chief of Fangla army. When he knows Xiaoxiao’s plan, he comes and tries to persuade her to give it up. Yet, Xiaoxiao insists on her revenge for her father. At this time, Hua Rong is punished by the emperor because he opposes the order to kill Pang Chunming. Depressed as he is , he devotes most of his time to wine and women. Xiaoxiao thinks it a good chance for her to kill Hua Rong. However, she fails and is thus killed by Lei Zhen. Lei Zhen attempts at inducing and killing Pang Chunming with Xiaoxiao’s corpse. Hua Rong who has been in low spirits at the news of the death of Song Jiang, is determined to save Pang Chunming. There is going to be a life-and-death battle between Hua Rong and Lei Zhen.
