"Parted Lives Never Parted Love" divides into 3 parts, "The Diaspora", "The Return", and "The Integration". The play is based on human feelings and ethics. It shows the social changes, national honor and disgrace and personal mission by separation and reunion of a traditional family over 50 years. "The Diaspora" develops from Shanghai in the 1930s. At the time of national disaster, the pains and sorrows raised between the four wives and their offsprings in a rich family, which made the whole story intricate and personal relationships complicated. Although the family struggled strongly with the fate and all social forces during the turbulent times, they were finally forced to disperse into different areas as mainland China, Hongkong, Taiwan, America and so on.
