Xia Qiu, a little scamp, was brought up in a slum district of Hong Kong. His father left for America to find a job when he was 5-year old and no news heard from him ever since, while his mother was in delicate health, which made him have but only one idea that was "living for existence" from childhood. But fate always made fun of him. Though their feelings for each other grew, Xia Qiu kept Adi at arm's length for considering his brotherhood. Later, Adi joined the guerilla and sacrificed when carried out a task. Their love had no result and eventually became their regrets.

Xia Qiu helped Black Peony (a hooker) for several times to bring her an important turning point. They appreciated each other and had ambiguous feelings for similar sufferings…
