Part One

That is a piece of land full of legends. And that is a research of archaeological excavation last for 80 years.

Two cultural relics, the exaggerated bronze mask head sculptures that were unearthed in 1986, the gold staff that took its initial appearance in the archaeological history of China, set the world on fire.

After several years’ study, we find that the exaggerated and mysterious objects are used to offer sacrifices to gods or ancestors by ancient people of Shu, an ancient kingdom in what is Szechwan Province today.

If there is a majestic ancient city of the State of Shu that has been fallen asleep for three thousand years behind so luxurious sacrificial vessel, along with a lot of unearthed ivories, and delicate seashells?

And afterwards, as the discovery of three city walls, the excavation of the site of urban workshops, and the discovery of the ground substances of lots of houses in residential area, the confirmation of the location of sacrifice areas, and the excavation of the grave areas outside the city, the majestic ancient city that had vanished for three thousand years appeared.

Why does this majestic Sanxingdui ancient city, the cultural, political and economic center in the past, vanish suddenly in thousand years ago?

Part Two

A majestic ancient city that existed in three thousand years ago, a luxurious and mysterious pit used to offer sacrifices to gods or ancestors, what on earth happened to them in thousands years ago, forcing all residents to abandon Sanxingdui ancient city?

Are sacrificial vessels ruined either by fire or other forces kept record of a destructive invasion of clans on the maternal side? But there’s no document about it, and in addition, the way to Shu is hard, both of which deny the conjecture.

The damaged sacrificial vessels were used in a grand-scale Liao Sacrifice in ancient China by people in ancient State of Shu.

If Liao Sacrifice used to pray for good crop weather implies a destructive natural disaster? Nevertheless, no one has found the evidence about it during the archaeological excavation.

According to historical records, we guess that the once prosperous city might be destroyed by a domestic conflict for rights.

Although Sanxingdui city vanished in thousands years ago, the cultural tradition from it still survives beside us.
