Synopsis:
It was the most drastic earthquake ever occurred in the past 400 years of the world’s history, causing a death toll of 240 thousand. In July ,1976, the city of Tangshan in North China turned into a ruin merely within 13 seconds.
Just ten years after the earthquake, a new Tangshan emerged out of the ruins. What contributed to its miraculous reconstruction? More remarkably though, the year 1976 turned out to be a turning point in Chinese history. From then on, a fundamental quake of the social economy has been kicked off and China has started the age of fast development.
The documentary features the facts based on the interviews with 5,000 witnesses as well as hundreds of survivors.
