Taffy Ent. announced a slew of new sales with broadcasters in Asia for four of its leading animated series: CODE LYOKO, FANTASTIC FOUR, DIVE OLLY DIVE! and DR. DOG.
FANTASTIC FOUR has been picked up by Asia TV in Hong Kong, ABS-CBN in The Philippines and OBS Korea. Animax in Korea has secured the rights to the first season of CODE LYOKO, along with Starlight in Pakistan. Elsewhere in Asia, DIVE OLLY DIVE! has been bought by Cartoon Network India, Cineplex Thailand and by TPI in Indonesia. DR. DOG has been snapped up by HBO Asia.
Based on Marvel's renowned franchise, FANTASTIC FOUR (26x26) is an action-comedy animation series, which brings to life Marvel抯 heroes Mr. Fantastic, The Thing, The Invisible Girl and The Human Torch. The series is co-produced by MoonScoop and Marvel, with the participation of Cartoon Network Europe and M6. Taffy Ent. has distribution rights outside the U.S., with Marvel handling U.S. television and subsequent DVD distribution rights and worldwide merchandising.
CODE LYOKO (97x26) follows the adventures of four 搊rdinary?students who discover the existence of a mysterious parallel universe, a virtual world called Lyoko. The students, Yumi, Ulrich, Odd and Jeremy, discover that both Earth and Lyoko are being threatened with destruction by a super virus, X.A.N.A., which has infected the Super Computer that controls everything. Now the students, who are joined by Aelita, a virtual being from Lyoko, must lead double lives -- ordinary boarding-school students on Earth and action heroes inside the digital world of Lyoko.
CODE LYOKO is produced by MoonScoop Prods., in association with France 3 and Canal J, and distributed worldwide by Taffy Ent. The show airs in the U.S. on Cartoon Network, in France on France 3 and Canal J, and in the U.K. on CiTV, in addition to nearly 100 countries worldwide.
DIVE OLLY DIVE! (52x11) follows the underwater escapades of Olly and Beth, two young research submarines-in-training, experiencing the joys and challenges of life in their underwater world. The series is a co-production of Mike Young Prods. (MYP), Flying Bark Prods. of Australia, KI.KA, ARD of Germany, Telegael of Ireland and GDC. Created by Andrew and Ian Ross, it is produced with the support of the MEDIA Plus Programme of the European Community.
DR. DOG (52x13), based on the book by best-selling author Babette Cole, follows Dr. Dog, the Gumboyle family抯 loyal pet, who, incredibly, is also a brilliant doctor. The series is produced by France Animation, ZDF, Canal J and Colorland in association with TF1, CNC, NRK, YLE and SVT.
