Willis and Morgan are ‘A Couple of Cops’

Action star Bruce Willis and 30 Rock’s Tracy Morgan are set to become cinema’s latest buddy cop duo in A Couple of Cops. The feature will be directed by indie fave Kevin Smith and will be his first movie for a major studio since he shot to prominence in the 90s with independent hits such as Clerks, Chasing Amy and Dogma.

According to Variety, the plot will deal with two cops and their attempts to retrieve a stolen baseball card and rescue a beautiful woman from gangsters. Willis is certainly no stranger to this type of role, having played a grizzled cop in four films of the Die Hard franchise, as well as in 2006’s Sin City. He has also proved his comedic chops, playing the straight man opposite Matthew Perry’s neurotic dentist in The Whole Nine Yards and its sequel The Whole Ten Yards.

Morgan, meanwhile, is consistently hilarious as insane comedian Tracy Jordan on 30 Rock. In addition to Cops, he has several features in the works, including Nailed with Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal and the animated feature G-Force with Penelope Cruz and Nicolas Cage.

Bruce Willis fans can see him in The Whole Nine Yards on Fri 13 Mar at 21:00 on M-Net Action, 22:00 on M-Net Action Africa and Die Hard 4: Live Free or Die Hard on Mon 23 Mar at 21:50 on MM2.
